Roundabout Theatre Company continues it’s 2016-17 season on Broadway tonight as Arthur Miller’s The Price officially opens.
The Price officially opens on Broadway tonight after beginning previews February 16th at The American Airlines Theatre. The show is a limited engagement running through May 7th only. Written by Arthur Miller, The Price follows Victor Franz who gave up his dream of an education to support his father when his family lost everything in the Great Depression. Three decades later, Victor is back at his childhood home and prepared to sell off the remainder of his parents belongings. However, when his wife, estranged brother and furniture dealer all arrive with their own agenda, Victor faces the ultimate question about the value of his sacrifice.
The Price features a star-studded cast including Tony, Emmy and Oscar Award nominee Mark Ruffalo alongside three-time Tony Award nominee Tony Shalhoub, Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht and Emmy Award winner Danny DeVito.
Helming The Price’s return to Broadway is Steppenwolf Theatre Company co-founder Terry Kinney as director. The rest of the creative team includes Derek McLane as scenic designer, Sarah Holden as costume designer, David Weiner as lighting designer and Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen as sound designers. Tom Watson designs hair and wigs. Jesse Tabish provides original compositions for the production while Thomas Schall serves as fight director.
