Wagner College Theatre is preparing to wrap up their 2015-16 season but not without one last sensation. Having staged a season including Golden Age productions as well as a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, Wagner College Theatre brings it all home in its season finale presenting one of the most iconic and beloved Broadway musicals of all time. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you the exciting news that A Chorus Line kicks off tonight at Wagner College Theatre!
Wagner College Theatre kicks off its 2015-16 season finale with the Tony Award winning hit A Chorus Line on the Main Stage. The production runs April 13th through April 16th with a second week running April 20th through April 24th. All performances are at 8 PM with a 2 PM matinée on April 16th and April 23rd. There is only a 2 PM performance on April 24th. This will be the third time Wagner College Theatre has presented A Chorus Line having previously staged the production in 1993 and 2001. The original production was conceived, directed and choreography by Michael Bennett. A Chorus Line features music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban and a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante. Based upon the lives of Broadway dancers, A Chorus Line is a musical “for everyone who has ever put it all on the line in pursuit of their dreams.”
Making up the line at Wagner College is Noah Bridgestock as Zach, Kelly Swint (Pictured Bottom) as Cassie, Nina Gabriella Gross as Diana, Victoria Puza as Sheila, Mari Skoultchi as Connie, Tyler Roberts as Greg, Darnell Xavier Kenney as Richie, Jacob Cowan as Bobby, Emma Pittman as Judy, Zachary Berteletti as Paul, Sabrina Kalman as Val, Jonathan Quigley as Mark, Megan Viglione as Maggie, Clint Maddox Thompson as Larry, Bobbi Barricella as Kristine, Christian Alvarez as Al, Jason Rath as Mike, Serina Figueiras as Bebe, Alec Reiss as Don, Samantha Ross as Lois, Michael Motkowski as Roy, Matt Healey as Tom, Kanyi Creppy as Butch, Jonah Hale as Frank, Carolyn Savoia as Trisha, and Lola Silver as Vicki.
Wagner’s Tony Award winning Michele Pawk (Pictured Right) helms the production as direction with Wagner alum Maggie Marino Pitts (2007) as choreographer. Dr. Lauri Young is musical director. The rest of the creative team includes Brian Sharron as scenic designer, Vicki Neal as lighting designer, Kurt Alger as costume designer and Ernie Jackson as sound designer. Angie Nortz is production stage manager.
Wagner College Theatre is a nationally ranked college theatre program located at Wagner College on Staten Island in New York City. The theatre program, which has been around since the 1960′s, has worked its way up to become one of the top ranked theatre programs by The Princeton Review. It has remained in the Top 5 Programs for the past 10 years and this past year ranked in at #2 in the nation. The program boosts a wonderful list of alumni and produces eight productions a year with four on the Main Stage and four in the Stage One Studio. The department is well represented on Broadway both past and currently with alumni working on Amazing Grace, School Of Rock, Paramour, Spring Awakening, Disaster! and Nerds alone this season. Now into the spring season, A Chorus Line and The Dance Project mark the final productions for the 2015-16 season before Wagner College Theatre announces their 2016-17 season.
