London Prepares For The Olivier Awards (Photo)

With less than one week to go until London’s biggest celebration of theatre, preparations for The Olivier Awards are well underway across London and at The Royal Opera House! A star-studded evening is expected as London comes together to celebrate yet another successful season in the West End filled with both new British-born productions and Broadway transfers! From rolling out the red carpet to settling the stars seating, the race is on as London prepares for its largest and most celebrated theatre awards evening of the year! Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a first look as London prepares for The Olivier Awards on April 3rd, 2016!


What’s happening here? While this practice is done for almost every major awards show, this placement cards are showing where some of the biggest stars of the evening are slated to be seated. This will allow for cameramen and producers of the awards show to plan out specific cuts to these actors as well as mapping out where stars will be for when they need a shot during a performance, speech or nomination/win.

Many of the names attached to those Broadway shows when they first bowed here crossed the pond with them as well and are up for this year’s awards.
