First Look: Hamilton Prepares To Dock In Chicago (Photo)
When scenic designer David Korins originally created his scenic designer for Hamilton at The Public Theatre Off-Broadway last spring, I bet he had no idea he would soon be recreating his designs not only for Broadway but for Chicago, a national tour and potential London production of Hamilton as well. Busier than ever, Korins also designed Misery on Broadway this season, is currently getting Dear Evan Hansen up and running Off-Broadway at Second Stage and somehow found time to travel to Los Angeles to provide a stellar design for FOX’s Grease LIVE! telecast. With the Chicago production of Hamilton less than a year away, Korins has just submitted his designs as the PrivateBank Theatre plans to transform itself into the room where it happens. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you an exciting first look at the scenic design being prepared for Hamilton ahead of its Chicago run!
Thank you to scenic designer, David Korins, for allowing us to share this photo of his work on our site! This photo was shared from Korin’s Twitter account, @DavidKorins. Hamilton will kick off performances September 27th, 2016 at Chicago’s PrivateBank Theatre as a part of the “Broadway In Chicago” series. At this time, the show is scheduled as an open-ended run.
