The production will celebrate it’s one year anniversary on stage this summer and is up for Olivier Award nominations in the next couple of months. It will be interesting to see what type of response the production receives given how well it has done with audiences. The entire original creative team behind the Tony Award winning Broadway mounting returned to bring the show to London. Kinky Boots is just one of many musicals that began on Broadway before heading to London as a switch in imports has increased over the past several years. This increase has come from a number of large American musicals doing extremely well on Broadway and around the nation in tours leading producers to mount a West End production for Britain and Europeans to enjoy to themselves.
