finding-neverland-4_650The captain has returned to the ship. Broadway’s Finding Neverland lost its captain this past summer as Kelsey Grammer headed overboard with his ship not planning to dock any time soon. However, almost six months later, Grammer is back and ready to take Broadway by storm as he returns to his villanous role he created on Broadway. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you the exciting news that Kelsey Grammer returns to Finding Neverland on Broadway tonight!

matthew_morrison_kelsey_grammer_finding_neverland_tonys_h_2015Kelsey Grammer returns to Finding Neverland tonight on Broadway following an extended hiatus from the musical. Finding Neverland announced a summer hiatus for Grammer who was expected to return to the show this past September. However in September, his hiatus was extended and he resumes performances for the first time tonight in the role of Charles Frohman and Captain Hook, the roles he originated. There was no reason given or made public for the hiatus. Anthony Warlow and Three-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann took over the role, both appearing for limited engagements, during Grammer’s absence. Grammer is currently scheduled to appear in the production through February 21st, 2016.

Grammer’s return comes in the final week of performances for the show’s leading man, Matthew Morrison. As previously reported by Luner on Theatre, Matthew Morrison will complete his run with Finding Neverland this Sunday January 24th, 2016. Morrison originated the role of J.M. Barrie in the production this past spring on Broadway at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre where the show officially opened April 15th, 2015 after beginning previews March 15th. Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck (Pictured Above Left) succeeds him beginning performances this Tuesday, January 26th.

With no reason given or made public regarding his hiatus from the show, I have to admit I was worried. Worried about what? What causes a performer in a leading role to suddenly leave a show that is doing incredible? We’re not sure and will more than likely never know. However, what does matter is that Grammer is officially back as of tonight and bringing back magic to the audiences in a role near to his heart. We haven’t had a chance to visit Broadway’s Finding Neverland and hope to do so with Grammer still on board! Welcome back to Broadway Kelsey Grammer!

Luner on Theatre welcomes back Kelsey Grammer to Broadway’s Finding Neverland and hopes to see him continue in the role for some time to come!
