Fool For Love is a play by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard that tells the story of two former lovers in a motel at the edge of the Mojave Desert. As the two unpack their secrets and dark desires for their already messy relationship, they find themselves tearing one another apart as they ultimately question whether they can live with, or without, each other.

The cast includes Tony Award winner Nina Arianda (Pictured Right) as May, Sam Rockwell as Eddie, Emmy Award winner Tom Pelphrey as Martin and Tony Award nominee Gordon Joseph Weiss as The Old Man. All of the cast above was involved in the 2014 Williamstown run of the show.

fool-for-love-sam-rockwellFool For Love comes to Broadway with a rather interesting history. The production was slated to be headlined by Chris Pine and Lauren Ambrose during the 2014 Williamstown Theatre Festival. Chris Pine is an American film actor best known for his appearances in Star Trek, The Princess Diaries 2, This Means War, Horrible Bosses 2 and most recently, Disney’s Into The Woods. Lauren Ambrose is an American film and television actress best known for her work on Six Feet Under, for which she won two Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. However, both Pine and Ambrose dropped out of the production less than a month from opening night. Arianda and Rockwell were immediately cast as replacements and thrust into a craze of learning the show with less than a month. In the grand scheme, things worked out rather well during the show’s tryout and the two are now bringing the show to Broadway this Fall.

Don’t miss your chance to see Manhattan Theatre Club’s Fool For Love on Broadway! We are definitely hoping to check out this production during its Broadway run!
