It’s 2007 all over again! The beloved Broadway musical Spring Awakening exploded onto the stage in 2006 changing Broadway and musical theatre, forever. Gathering throngs of young fans, many were devastated to see the musical close prematurely in 2009 despite critical and financial acclaim as well as being nominated for 11 Tony Awards. (It went on to win 8 by the way including Best Book, Best Original Score and Best Musical). So when Deaf West announced it’s critically acclaimed production, that includes hearing and hard of hearing actors, that debuted last year on the West Coast was heading to Broadway this fall, fans rejoiced. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a first look at Deaf West’s Spring Awakening revival on Broadway!

Spring Awakening officially opened this past weekend to rave reviews! The production is directed by Michael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff. The show is currently in performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 47th street. The production is a strictly limited engagement running through January 24th, 2016 only.
