Harbor Lights Theater Company Kicks Off 2015 Season with Broadway Shines Concert

Staten Island, which lays just 30 minutes across the harbor from Manhattan, is home to many theatre companies and arts organizations. However, one company is standing apart from others as they lay the ground work for Staten Island to become home to some serious regional theatre. The Harbor Lights Theater Company, founded in 2010, is bringing Broadway talent to the borough as the company stages theatrical productions for the community to experience. With five seasons already under their belt, the company is kicking off their sixth with an event holding true to their mission statement. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you the exciting news that the Harbor Lights Theater Company will kick off it’s 2015 season with a one night only concert, Broadway Shines on Harbor Lights!

Music HallThe Harbor Lights Theater Company will officially kick off their 2015 season with a one night only concert, Broadway Shines at Harbor Lights! The concert, which will be an evening of song and dance, will take place on June 5th, 2015 in the Music Hall (Pictured Right) at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Gardens. The performance begins at 8 PM.

Hugh-Panaro-vocalist-200x300The cast of Broadway Shines on Harbor Lights ranges from Broadway talent to television favorites. Leading the cast are Tony Award nominees John Herrera and Larry Marshall alongside Emmy Award nominee Kathy Brier, Les Miserables’ J. Mark McVey, Phantom of the Opera’s Hugh Panaro (Pictured Left), Newsies’ Tommy Bracco, Wicked’s Kristy Cates, Chicago’s Christine Bokhour as well as Broadway veteran and Bob Fosse assistant Mimi Quillin. Michael McIIwee, Sarah Blodgette and Evy Ortiz round out the cast.

Broadway Shines on Harbor Lights will be directed by Stephen Nachamie, who most recently directed West Side Story for Harbor Lights in the Fall. The performance is set to include selections from Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Newsies, Wicked, West Side Story and many more!

logoThe Harbor Lights Theater Company is the first professional Equity theatre company in Staten Island’s history. The company, which was founded in 2010, is dedicated to “illuminating the human experience” through the highest quality, professional theatrical productions  and educational outreach on the borough of Staten Island in New York City. The company has found its home at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Gardens and has produced 16 productions there over the course of five seasons. In its past five seasons, Harbor Lights has presented 85 Broadway professionals which include Tony, Grammy, Oscar, Emmy, drama Desk and Obie Award winning and nominated artists.
