Can-Can at Paper Mill Playhouse (Photos)
Paper Mill Playhouse is kicking off its 2014-15 season! Literally! Can-Can, which features music and lyrics by Cole Porter with a book by Abe Burrows, has come to life at Paper Mill Playhouse! The musical tells the story of Pistache, a Parisian cafe who decides to allow the scandalous can-can dance into her business. Only usually seen in the Montmartre dance halls during the 1890s, her defiance of the law has the chance to not only end her business but her love life as well. This production features a reworked script by the legendary David Lee, best known for his work with Frasier, and Joel Fields, best known for his work on Ugly Betty. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a first look at the Broadway bound production of Can-Can at Paper Mill Playhouse!
Can-Can is the first production of the Paper Mill Playhouse 2014-15 season! The show is currently scheduled to run until October 26th, 2014! The production is directed by David Lee and choreographed by Patti Colombo! The rest of the Paper Mill season includes Elf, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the world premiere of Ever After.
