After only the first few previews, the production extended through Summer 2012 and in May 2012, the production officially became an open-ended run. The production recently closed on August 24th, 2014 after playing over 1,000 performances on Broadway. The Broadway production cost Disney only $5 million dollars which they recouped in 7 months, the quickest of any Disney show ever on Broadway.
