Tony Time: Best Revival of a Musical (Photos)

Musicals that returned to Broadway this past season, whether they were actually revivals of not, were all well-known names to the theatre community. From classics like Les Miserables and Cabaret to the debut of popular pieces, such as Violet and Hedwig, musical revivals helped bring to life a big Broadway season as these return engagements were re-staged, reinvented or reimagined for the stage.  Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a look at the Tony nominated productions for Best Revival of a Musical!

Which well-known favorite will take home the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical? One thing that did disappointment me regarding The Tony nominations this year was a lack of a nomination for Roundabout Theatre Company’s Cabaret. While the production was ruled eligible by the Tony committee to be nominated citing major staging differences in this return engagement, the Tony voters only voted 3 revivals overall for this category. Visit Luner on Theatre’s Tony Time Page for all articles relating to this year’s Tony Awards Ceremony! For more information, visit The Tony Awards Official WebsiteAnd of course, check out the rest of Luner on Theatre for all your theatre news you don’t only need but want to know and so much more!
