Tony Time: Nominations for Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Photos)

From a murder mystery to a rock hall to a fighting ring to grand ole Broadway itself. Scenic designers have the ultimate task of bringing to life the  unique environment of a Broadway production on stage and in the theatre through their designs. While audience members only get to see the finished product, a lot of pre-work including research, sketches and creating a model go into the process long before the Broadway audience ever sees the stage. Luner on Theatre is offering you a look behind the scenes before these works every made it to Broadway and received a Tony nomination for their outstanding design. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a first look at the Tony nominated best scenic designs for this year’s musicals!
