2014 Outer Critics Circle Award Winners Announced

With less than one month to go until the 2014 Tony Awards, more winners were announced today in New York for the 2014 Outer Critics Circle Awards. As they do every year, the theatre community is once again watching closely as they try to note the trends set by the early awards given out as they predict who will take home this year’s biggest honors at The Tony Awards on June 8th. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a full list of the 2014 Outer Critics Circle Award winners!

The Outer Critics Circle Awards  is celebrating its 64th year of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theatre. The members of the committee are associated with more than 90 newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, internet and theatrical publications not only in America but also worldwide.The awards are presented for both achievement in both Off-Broadway and Broadway productions.

Congratulations to all of the winners of the 2014 Outer Critics Circle Awards! A Gentleman’s Guide To Love And Murder, which led the overall nominations with 11, took home the most awards winning 4 including Outstanding New Broadway Musical! The brand new musical comedy Bullets Over Broadway came in second winning 3 Outer Critics as did the acclaimed revival of The Glass Menagerie. All The Way and Hedwig And the Angry Inch rounded out the top winners taking home 2 awards each as well. Many were not surprised that Gentleman’s Guide took home top honors in several categories as it is the most nominated musical overall this season on Broadway. An interesting trend already set as we head closer to the 2014 Tony Awards!
