Casa Valentina (Photos)
It’s the 1960’s in the Catskill mountains and nestled among the vacationing families escaping their normal lives for the summer is a colony of men trying to escape what society has labeled them as. Casa Valentina, written by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, is a new play that chronicles the lives of some heterosexual men who just didn’t enjoy being men. Their favorite pastime is dressing and acting like women. However, when the men are given the opportunity to become an official recognized organization, they debate whether it is their time to stand up and show who they truly are as opposed to avoiding personal disaster by simply dealing with what life has handed them. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a look at Casa Valentina on Broadway!
