Two Can Keep A Secret If One Of Them Is Dead. Tales From Red Vienna, the new play by David Grimm, tells the story of a woman named Heléna. Heléna lost her husband in World War I and her financial security with him as well. Despite her loss, she works to keep the only lifestyle she knows. In order to do this, she joins an illicit underworld and creates her very own secret life. She remains public and her two worlds never collide until she meets a man who not only knows her secret but has the chance to expose and ruin her. The story focuses on the theme of war and what it does to woman. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a first look at the world premiere of Manhattan Theatre Club’s Tales From Red Vienna!
Tales From Red Vienna began performances on February 26th, 2014. The production will officially open on March 18th at New York City Center Stage I.
