Disney’s Aladdin the Musical Comes to Life in New Character Portraits
Make Way for Prince Ali! On his way in from Agrabah, Disney’s Aladdin stopped in Toronto for a pre-Broadway run. However, the prince is on his way into New York and is looking better than ever before! The brand new Disney musical Aladdin, based off of the film of the same title, is headed for Broadway this spring in a brand new Disney’s spectacular stage musical. With just about a week to go before a whole new world comes to Broadway, Disney has brought us a sneak peek into some new character portraits showing off just some of the 350 brand new original designs by Tony Award winning costume designer Gregg Barnes. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you a first look at some new stage portraits of the characters you will see come to life on stage in Disney’s Aladdin the Musical!
Disney’s Aladdin will fly into The New Amsterdam Theatre on Broadway in just one week! Previews are scheduled to begin February 26th, 2014 and the show will officially open on Broadway March 20th. Disney’s Aladdin is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw. Thank you to Cylla von Tiedemann for the photos used in this blog post.
