Putting It Together Will Return to the British Stage For 4 Performances Only
Bit by Bit! Whether it’s American theatre or British theatre, there is truly no argument when it comes to the work of Stephen Sondheim. Sondheim, known for complex productions that often question and challenge the relationships we all deal with in everyday life, has changed the world of musical theatre with his stories and musical style. While all major composers easily put together revue shows featuring the products of their work, it wasn’t that easy for Sondheim. Even this revue production we are happy to bring you word of today challenges the relationships you hold so near and dear to you in everyday life. Today, Luner on Theatre brings you the exciting news that Putting It Together will return to the stage in England at the GLive Stuido in Guildford!
Putting It Together is a musical revue featuring the work of Stephen Sondheim. The show was created by Sondheim and Julia McKenzie. Unlike other revue shows which often lack a plot, Putting It Together tells the story of two couples at a cocktail party in New York City. One couple is married and one couple is just beginning out as young lovers. Through the music of Sondheim, the couples examine modern-day relationships as well as the issues and complexities that make them so difficult. The show features songs from Into The Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, Sunday In The Park With George, Company and Sweeney Todd just to name a few.
Alex Parker and Alastair Knights made the exciting announcement that after the success of their concert version of A Light Night Music, the two would be staging Putting It Together for a limited engagement of 4 performances only. Putting It Together will play at The GLive Studio in Guildford from September 27th to September 29th.
