Spice Up Your Life! It seems hard not to be excited of the looming Spice Girls musical, Viva Forever, slowly but surely making it’s way to London for an official opening later this year. Luner on Theatre has been bringing you information on this process from the beginning and that continues now. Today, Luner on Theatre takes you behind the scenes with the official launch of Viva Forever in London and more information on the new Spice Girls musical!

Viva Forever is a new musical by Jennifer Saunders that will feature about 16 songs of the Spice Girls. The Spice Girls are Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown respectively as Ginger, Baby, Posh, Sporty and Scary. Since our last post, we have received an official statement on the shows plot. According to a new press release; Viva Forever! tells the story of a beautiful, talented girl and her best friends who get swept up in the obsession of today’s TV celebrity culture. As she follows her dream, the musical charts her journey into the world of overnight fame and its impact on her relationships with her mother and the friends she thought she’d have forever. From London to Spain and back again, as they confront the bitter reality of fame and as the world judges her, she and her mother learn to empower themselves and be who they really want to be.

Currently, Viva Forever! is scheduled to play The Piccadilly Theatre in London beginning later this year. A new bit of information we have learned are the official beginning dates. Viva Forever! will begin previews in London November 27th, 2012 and will officially open December 11th, 2012. Lead Producer Judy Cramer could not be happier about booking and securing The Piccadilly Theatre for Viva Forever! later this year.
