Don’t Cry For Me Argentina: Second Evita Preview Cancelled for Water Damage

BREAKING NEWS: Hello Everyone! It has just been announced by producers Hal Luftig and Scott Sanders that tonight’s second scheduled preview of Evita on Broadway has been cancelled. The reason for tonight’s cancellation came in a press release which stated:

“The deluge system went off at the Marquis Theatre, and clean up is underway. The deluge system is a large reservoir of water stored above the stage which, when released in case of fire, will flood the stage in an attempt to extinguish any flames.  There was no fire at the theatre.”

Evita will resume scheduled previews at The Marquis Theatre on 45 street tomorrow March 14th at 2 PM as previously scheduled. For anyone who had tickets for tonight’s performance, please contact your point of purchase for a refund or a ticket exchange. Evita features a score by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Opening for the Broadway revival is currently scheduled for April 5th, 2012. For more information, check out Evita’s Official Broadway Website.
