Nice Work If You Can Get It Announces Full Cast and Song List
Broadway is making way to a new Spring filled with new productions on The Great White Way. And one of those shows is really beginning to take shape now. The new Gershwin musical bringing big band musical and larger then life company numbers has announced more details that are giving the theatre goers a little taste of just what this upcoming production is all about. Nice Work If You Can Get It is described as the following by its producers. “This new musical features a veritable hit parade of iconic George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin songs as well as some unknown gems in their catalog. Nice Work If You Can Get It follows Billie Bendix (Kelli O’Hara), a tough-as-nails bootlegger who meets wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter (Matthew Broderick) on the weekend of his nuptials. Mayhem ensues.”
Already announced was the two main headliners of this production Matthew Broderick, in the role of Jimmy and Kelli O’Hara, in the role of Billie. However today, we have learned not only who will be involved in the production’s supporting roles but also the full company.
When it comes to the supporting roles of this production, Nice Work If You Can Get It is set to include Tony winner Judy Kaye as Estonia Dulworth, The Duchess of Woodford; Michael McGrath (Spamalot) as Cookie McGee; Tony nominee Jennifer Laura Thompson (Wicked, Urinetown) as Eileen Evergreen; Estelle Parsons will play Jimmy’s mother; Terry Beaver as Senator Max Evergreen; Robyn Hurder as Jeannie Muldoon; Stanley Wayne Mathis as Chief Berry; and Chris Sullivan as Duke Mahoney
The company of the new Broadway musical will include Cameron Adams, Clyde Alves, Kaitlyn Davidson, Jason DePinto, Kimberly Faure, Robert Hartwell, Stephanie Martignetti, Barrett Martin, Michael X. Martin, Vivian Nixon, Adam Perry, Jeffrey Schecter, Jennifer Smith, Joey Sorge, Samantha Sturm and Kristen Beth Williams.
Also released with the full cast was an announcement of some of the production’s song titles many of which are being pulled from the Gershwin catalogs. As of today, the songs for Nice Work If You Can Get It include:

Nice Work If You Can Get It will make it’s way to Broadway later this spring with previews beginning on March 29th with an official opening set for April 24th, 2012.
