Upper Darby Summer Stage Presents Disney’s Camp Rock

Raise your hands up in the air and SCREAM! Why?! Because today, Upper Darby Summer Stage will proudly kick off its 36th Season! But thats not all! The Season begins with one of thee hottest Disney movies out in recent years! Playing off of the success of both Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: Final Jam into one epic stage production, this week, Upper Darby Summer Stage will proudly bring to life Disney’s Camp Rock!

Upper Darby Summer Stage is a nationally recognized theatre program that each year produces six children’s theatre shows, 1 main stage production, a night of one acts and a combined dance troupe/cabaret show. The program, now in its 36th year, was created by executive and artistic director Harry Dietzler. The program has over 700 participants and 100 staff members.

As previously stated, Camp Rock is kicking off this season! Camp Rock combines the stories from Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: Final Jam, which were both Disney channel movies, that were of decent success’ for Disney. Combining the teenage success of Demi Lovato and The Jonas Brothers, the story talks about the fight to save Camp Rock against the newest camp across the lake Camp Star. An epic showdown considered “Camp Wars” takes place with one camp winning and one camp left in the dust. Which is which though? You’ll have to come see the show to find out.

Upper Darby Summer Stage’s production is one of their largest this season. The show is directed by Brian Dietzler featuring choreography by Kevin Dietzler. Daniel Matarazzo is the music director for the music heavy production. Steve Norris is Stage Manager. Katherine Fritz designs the costumes for the production with Peter Escalada-Mastick doing the lighting design. The unit set Summer Stag will use all summer was designed by Lindsey Mayer.

Even more impressive then the production team of the show is that the show boosts 95 cast members! Wow! The stage really fills itself when everyone is on stage and the finale of the show ends with cast members through out the stage and the house.

So, be sure to come see Upper Darby Summer Stage’s production of Camp Rock! If you are a family and have children and are in the area, Summer Stage is definitely a place you should visit this summer! We hope to give your child the magical experience of live theatre through our childrens theatre performances! And we most definitely hope we can do that for you this summer! Camp Rock will run July 6th, 7th and 8th at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Centers! All shows are at 10:30 AM. There is also an evening show on July 7th at 7:30 PM which is SOLD OUT!     I am glad you are writing this about summer stage. I know you are putting alot of thought into it since you have had the experience of summer stage. I hope this gets alot more kids interested in summer stage.
